Artist's Comments

Colored pencil (11x14). Rather odd fan art of the vampire hunting priest Alexander Anderson. I actually have another picture I may post (in human form) but for what ever reason, I like this version better. I’m not sure what possessed me to believe that making Anderson a jackal was a good idea. From 2003 maybe.

Alexander Anderson, Sort of... by ~Choedan-Kal "I thought that piece appealed to me the most out of her gallery. I really like the pose and background. You can really tell when an artist puts effort and time into an artwork, its really paid off with this piece." (Suggested by *talliesynn and Featured by ^Katmomma)

seeing this picture done entirely in colored pencil and looking amazing gives me hope. I love colored pencil but not watercolors so much, as I see so many artists combine. a must fave

All that in coloured pencil?! Man, you're a skillful renderer; the depth is awesome and I love the detailing... must've taken a while... but it's definetely picturesque material.

Y'd better believe it!

Actually, it just occurred to me that part of this picture was also done with markers (Anderson’s clothes). I am fairly certain that the rest is colored pencil. I’ll have to dig up the original to confirm. Unfortunately, just about all my postings so far are older pieces that I scanned years ago.

Haven't seen this one before. I like it a lot. I've never stopped being amazed by your colored pencil work.

Alucard: I had one man tell me he was a writer.
Integra: And what did you do?
A: I killed him quickly.
I: I'm sure the art community thanked you.
A: I like to consider myself a scathing critic. Non of my subjects survive my reviews.

How do you get such sharp lines with those things!? I always need to sharpen them after evry 3 seconds! Do you have any tips?
:iconanimari:

That's really the only way - to just sharpen them alot, which is probably why I go through pencils so fast. The only other tip I can give is to not worry about sharpening pencils when you are blending or doing anything that doesn't require a sharp line, but that probably goes without saying. I would also invest in a good manual hand held sharpener. This will allow you to better control how much wood you shave off. An electric sharpener will probably cut away more than is needed and the vibrations may damage the "lead" inside the shaft.
