Digital oils using Painter X and a WACOM tablet (personal references used). Fall on the banks of Quantico Creek.

I haven’t done many fall pictures, and although I am happy with the result, painting this picture felt more frustrating than usual. I think it may simply have been because I couldn’t see the coloring/lighting coming together until I had already put a lot of effort into it – I’d rather have that immediate feedback of knowing I was on the right track.

Great work. I love how the tree in the foreground jumps out. Really great depth without overdoing the contrast.
