Digital Oils in Painter X using a Wacom tablet. This is a relatively quick painting of a real place (personal photo references used). Its creek in the Rocky Mountain National Park, directly downstream of Dream Lake (at nearly 10,000 feet).
This picture took slightly longer than I intended (i.e. not quite a speed painting), but I am very pleased with the results. My goal was to get better practice using a more realistic/sophisticated color scheme without worrying about details or texture. I originally started off with acrylics, but I discovered that the oil brushes gave me the richer colors I wanted. I suppose that is the point of Painter, but I was still kind of amazed how much of a difference choosing the right brush made.
